As everyone knows there are downsides to having large plants and an industrial/manufacturing industry.
One of the major downsides is pollution, throughout the years our world's development has taken a toll on the environment.
Through pollution we now have extinct/endangered animals, the scare of global warming, etc. Hormel has taken knowledge to
this and released the following guidlines to the public on how it will do its share to maintain a clean environment while
creating a successful company.

- minimize waste through source reduction and recycling.
- handle and dispose of wastes through safe, environmentally responsible methods.
- conserve energy by improving the efficiency of its use in our operations.
- conduct regular environmental assessments at our facilities and make recommendations for improvements.
- encourage our business partners to strive for the same high levels of environmental performance.
- review the impact on the environment during corporate planning and decision making.
